LESSON NINE QUESTIONS

1.  You are caring for your patient who has refused to eat breakfast and lunch today. Her relative comes in the room and insists that she eat the entire lunch you just tried to serve her. Your patient becomes upset because she is stating she is not hungry. Her relative becomes even more upset and frustrated. In a few sentences, describe how you could ease the tension for both the loved one and the patient. What would you explain to the relative? What interventions could you perform that may increase your patient’s appetite?
