1^st Annual Fundraiser

Dear Maharajas, and Prabhus,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

As many of you are aware, Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. is a worldwide network of volunteer medical professionals as well as devotee lay-persons who have stepped forward to assist terminally-ill Vaisnavas and their families when the need arises. Our Board of Directors includes HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami, Mother Kaulini, Mother Jagarini, Mother Sangita, and Mother Jusaniya.

We at Vaisnavas C.A.RE. are very grateful to our dedicated volunteers and board members for their continued assistance and support. This year has been an especially busy one for our Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. team.

This year’s activities include the following:

Our Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. website offers an ongoing Bereavement Support Page where devotees can feel comfortable revealing their thoughts and feelings pertaining to grief.
This past year was filled with continual prayers for our extended family of Vaisnavas and many of their friends and family as well.
Vaisnavas C.A.R.E continues to offer a free online course in the basics of end-of-life care. Several devotees have already received their certificates of completion for their efforts in learning the coarse material.
Our website provides information on allopathic as well as Complementary Therapies for Pain and symptom management.
Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. offers a platform where devotees can compose and submit their personal stories to share with others.
Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. website offers continual spiritual guidance through the posting of relevant lectures given by esteemed Vaisnavas such as His Holiness Giriraj Swami.
Volunteers have given individual bereavement support via phone and letter-writing. Several of our compassionate volunteers have made “CARE” visits to devotees facing a terminal illness.
We would like to thank His Holiness Giriraj Swami for his continued spiritual guidance with our Vaisnavas C.A.RE. mission.
Special thank you to His Holiness Bhakti Tirtha Swami for his continuing support as a V-CARE board member and for inspiring us with his exemplary ways for caring for the Vaisnavas.
Special thanks to Mother Kaulini (Gita Nagari Farm, PA) for her extended visit with a terminally-ill devotee in California.
Special thanks to Mother Annupurna (Philadelphia) for her upcoming extended visit with a terminally-ill devotee in the Mid West, USA.
Thank you to Mother Jagarini for attending the January, 2005 North American SSPT meeting in Dallas. Jagarini is now one of the organizers for the Health Care committee for ISKCON North America.
Our gratitude to Mother Devavati for “spreading the word” about Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. through pamphlet and book distribution as well as short presentations.
Much appreciation goes to Bhakti Visrambha Madhava Swami for his continued spiritual and financial support for our V-CARE website.
