Care Homes And Temple Accommodations

Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. Inc. is dedicated to providing Counseling, Assistance, Resources, and Education for the terminally-ill and their families. Care homes, in or around established Vaisnavas communities and/or a room within a temple is needed. These residential care homes will be for those who need and/or desire to live out their last days in a Vaisnava community. If you are interested in providing a care home or even one room in your temple so a terminally-ill devotee can be in the association of other Vaisnavas, Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. can assist by:

Offering professional advice concerning on how to set up and manage a program for terminally-ill devotees
Connecting the devotee community to a nearby Hospice for medical care, supplies, and equipment.
Offering an in-depth training seminar to teach the art of end-of-life-care for Vaisnavas
Offering continuing assistance and support
Connecting your community to other Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. Volunteers (where available)
On-line caregiver training course free of charge
Step-by-step instructions via a book entitled: The Final Journey Complete Hospice Care for Departing Vaisnavas (Torchlight Publishing)
Monthly newsletters with updated information
On-line bereavement support group
On-line Prayer Request Forum for Terminally-ill Vaisnavas and their Families
Website information on Complementary therapies, pain and symptom management, medications, etc.

Present Accommodations

Due to various life circumstances it may not be possible for a terminally-ill devotee to remain at home during his or her remaining days. Temple President Kaulini devi dasi (Gita Nagari, PA), has already come forward and generously offered accommodations to any terminally-ill devotee who wishes to leave his or her body in a Vaisnava community. Trained Vaisnava caregivers will coordinate and help to provide care in these settings.
